The RuralVoices Youth
Contest is sponsored each year by the North
Central Regional Planning Commission (NCRPC),
Beloit, Kansas, to engage the region’s
young people in thoughtful reflection on
rural Kansas and promote a fruitful discussion
among citizens based on their insights.
The theme for the 2010 contest was “Rural
Kansas…Working Together.”
RuralVoices is open
to any senior in high school who lives
in and/or is attending a public or private
high school within the 12 county NCRPC
service area including Clay, Cloud, Dickinson,
Ellsworth, Jewell, Lincoln, Marshall,
Mitchell, Ottawa, Republic, Saline and
Washington counties. The 2011 contest
deadline will be November 15, 2010. Check
